This year’s Met Gala had Comme des Garçons and its beloved founder Rei Kawakubo as its theme. As predicted, most of the A-listers didn’t even wear a Kawakubo design; even worse was that most of them were wearing non avant-garde designs.

Another highlight of the night were the couples that graced the red carpet for the first time as a way of confirming their coupling. Selena Gomez and The Weeknd finally confirmed their relationship status in the most fashionable way. What better way to show the world your love than attending your first Met Ball?

On to another extremely good-looking couple, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez walked hand in hand at this year’s Met Gala after months of speculation about the real score between the two. Lopez, wearing Valentino, looked every bit of a Hollywood royalty she is as she walked down the red carpet with her new beau.

Tennis Superstar and GOAT Serena Williams debuted not only her relationship with Reddit co-founder and fiancé Alexis Ohanian, but also her maternity look. The two confirmed their engagement late last year, and a few weeks ago Williams confirmed her pregnancy in the most millennial way possible: posting a selfie on Snapchat. Williams certainly looked dazzling as she walked the red carpet dressed in a custom-made curve hugging dress from Atelier Versace.
